You are right to stick to your guns. However, I wouldn't bet against Apple pursuing constant improvement of its silicone either.

By the way, Apple launched the M2 MacBook Pro a year ago; I waited until March to buy one, which I love; but I was pissed when they released the M3 versions only six months later.
