Well argued, as usual. In my book Choose the Narrow Path I used this image a number of times: "the Holy Spirit who hovered over dark chaos to bring forth creation, who hovered over the darkness of the womb of Mary to bring forth the Incarnate One, who hovered over the mutilated corpse of Jesus in the darkened tomb, will bring forth the New Creation out of the old." There is a motion to the Spirit's action, always pointing to a future yet uncreated, yet that shall be.
What we shall be isn't clear, of course, but I agree that a "new" creation implies an "old" from which the "new" springs. So there is some resemblance, like Jesus to the disciples, and yet deep dividing difference.
But for sure I do not want to live forever in this universe...
