The land of artists and philosophers—Haiti

2 min readJul 1, 2025

Following up on “Think you know Haiti?”

The beauty of Haiti stands in contrast to its tortured history as a plaything of great powers. It is surrounded by water, the Caribbean on the north, west, and south, and the Artibonite river on the east. Pic la Selle is the highest mountain in Haiti and second in the Caribbean. Located in the south-east, it peak is 8,793 feet or 2,240 meters high.
