Thanks for replying. Dating Thomas in the first century is really stretching it. Luke is now the consensus candidate for latest gospel (95...), not John.

Marcion posited two gods, the evil god of the OT and the nice god of Jesus. Hardly Pauline.

I maintain that Thomas is an interesting 2nd century collection of sayings, but does not contain much of the original materials that went into the gospels. And we could ask women what they think is meant by needing to become a man...
