Thank you for a fine article. I think it is wonderful that astrophysicists know less now about the universe than what they thought they knew before. So many new mysteries to unravel!
Everyone needs a perspective, actually a matrix, that ties together our outlook or horizon. In other words, we are all religious (Latin religio="tied together". This does not have to do with any religion, of course. The process of developing, and continuing to develop that horizon is the practice of spirituality, a conscious being asking about being conscious.
Science and religion begin from the same experience, which is awe. That doesn't excuse fundamentalisms, whether versions of a religion or scientism.
