Looking forward to your series, Paul. The OT doesn't say much about an afterlife. A few psalms suggest that God will not let us see "The Pit" after death, so an afterlife... Sheol, the place of the dead, alternatively has no place for consciousness of any kind. People "lay down with their ancestors" is another message. "He rose again, according to the Scriptures" emphasizes those writings that accord with Christ's resurrection.
