As you know, Grant, dating the Didache varies wildly between 50 AD and 190. There seem to be accretions to an original, which is essentially a catechism of sorts.

It is fascinating for a lot of reasons, which you discuss. One question I have not seen considered is why it dropped out of sight after the Imperial era.
